The most basic principles of are our "Ten Rules."
The Rules of Project Mayhem
The first rule of Project Mayhem is, you will use the forums. Forum registration is required for guild membership.
The second rule of Project Mayhem is, you will USE THE FORUMS! Raid sign ups will occur on the forums. If you are not signed up for the raid on the forums, you will not be given any priority for the raid.
The third rule of Project Mayhem is, you will put your guildmates above yourself. We are a team FIRST, and our collective success outweighs any personal success. As such, you will not charge guildmates for goods or services. We are here to HELP each other, not make a quick buck.
The fourth rule of Project Mayhem is, you are not here for gear. We exist as a guild because we are friends, we enjoy playing together, and want to succeed together. If you are here just to get "decked out," please leave.
The fifth rule of Project Mayhem is, you will attend a single "all guild" meeting that will occur each month.
The sixth rule of Project Mayhem is, you will have Vent installed and running during raids. You don't need a mic, but you do need to be able to listen for instructions and other important information.
The seventh rule of Project Mayhem is, you will direct matters of importance to the proper officers.
The eighth rule of Project Mayhem is, you will give as well as take. Don't just be the first one with your hand out when someone offers an item or a run. Offer some of those things yourself, that way we all are doing the best we can for each other.
The ninth rule of Project Mayhem is, you will be polite and exercise restraint in your language on Vent and in guild chat. We have members who are teenagers and young adults, and we want this guild to be inclusive to all of them. So exercise good taste and judgment when speaking, and know that certain things are not appropriate.
The tenth rule of Project Mayhem is, ask. Ask us to go somewhere or do something with you. Our crystal ball is broke, our ESP is on the fritz, and we can’t read minds. If you don’t say anything, we don’t know that you want to go for a run, go do quests, we want to play with you that is why we are in this guild with you.
Now some elaboration on some other key points.
Performance
While raiding, your guildmates are expecting your undivided attention. The members of Project Mayhem work as a team to achieve their goals. We understand that sometimes life will interrupt you, and you will not be penalized for these priorities. All we ask is for people not to join a raid when they know they'll have to leave 45 minutes after it begins.
Nothing destroys morale more than someone important going away from the keyboard for an hour to have dinner in the middle of a raid.
Other than that, members are free to do whatever they want. If they want to go out and farm level 3 zombies till they are blue in the face, more power to them. One of the great things about Project Mayhem is the freedom to do whatever you want outside of raid time.
However, during raids you are expected to pull your own weight and be a productive guildmate. If someone becomes a detriment to the raid group (ex. pulling Firelords in Molten Core to purposively wipe the raid group) then that person will be approached by the leadership and warned to improve their behavior. If the behavior continues, the guild member will be demoted to recruit. If the behavior continues even further, termination of membership will become the only viable course of action.
Behavior
Appropriate behavior is being respectful to others. Being respectful means:
• Being on time for raids.
• Going to guild leaders for advice about problems with others.
• Conducting yourself appropriately in public.
• Conducting yourself appropriately on the realm forums.
• Not bragging about our accomplishments.
Inappropriate behavior is being disrespectful to others. Being disrespectful means:
***We have zero tolerance for any forms of harassment, if you are unsure if something is inappropriate then do not say it or type, or do it***
• Being late for a raid and insisting you should get something out of it.
• Blowing up in guild chat at someone you don't like.
• Flaming people in general chat, open chat, or otherwise.
• Flaming people on the forums.
• Bragging about how Project Mayhem is better than other guilds.
• Disregarding the miracle and benefits of more cowbell.
Members of Project Mayhem are expected to be active in the guild. If you know you are not going to be online for an extended period of time, notify an officer. If any member (full member or recruit) is offline for one month, and has not previously notified an officer, they will be removed from the guild without notice.
Project Mayhem's policy on seeking membership into other guilds while still a part of Project Mayhem is the same as /gquit. We have Zero Tolerance on this matter. If you no longer wish to be a part of Project Mayhem, kindly remove yourself, without drama, and feel free to apply to whatever guild your little heart desires. By applying to other guilds while still a member, you're potentially getting items that guildmates (who wish to remain part of the family) could use.
