What we expect from people Raiding

Postby Mayhew the Slayer on Sat Apr 05, 2008 10:47 pm

Here is what we expect from you for Raiding.

At Raid start time I expect the whole raid to be standing outside the instance or be in the instance it you are not there 10 DKP will be deducted.

At 5 minutes after raid start I will replace you.

I expect you to come repaired and with reagents and buffs.
I expect you to follow directions and pay attention.
I expect you to meet the minimum standards for the classes.

These are the guild policy's, I was informed that they were not clearly stated anywhere else. This is for you r information.

taken from wow insider

--Read the strategies! Only the locked bosses in the Sunwell haven't been analyzed and theorycrafted and reduced to a sterile sum of their inherent stats and abilities. The information is out there and easily accessible. Likewise, study up on the trash, which is seldom as deadly but can certainly slow a raid down and hamper progression.

--Bring more consumables than you could ever possibly need! Buff potions/flasks, buff food, temporary item buffs (wizard oils, poisons, and such), health potions, mana potions, bandages, ammo, reagents (including soul shards), and repair bots are just some of the items you want to stock up on. Some encounters -- Lurker is actually a good example -- can require more specialized consumables like bait.

--Repair your gear! Duh.

--Enchant and socket your gear! Every little advantage helps. Research which enchants and gems are most effective for your raid role.

--Spec like you mean it! Don't come to PVE encounters with a PVP spec. Even worse, don't come to heal with a DPS spec, tank with a healing spec, and so on. Talents are way more powerful than gear. If you can't afford to respec, borrow the cash or do some dailies.

--Install and update the required addons! Five minutes prior to zone in is not the time to configure Ventrilo or download BigWigs. Give yourself some room for error if something goes wrong.

--Go bio! You laugh, but there's always that guy who has to bio after the second pull. Seriously, pretend it's a long car ride -- go before you sit down at the PC even if you aren't necessarily squeezing your knees together.

The required addons are as follows

Omen
Deadly Boss Mods
Pally Power for all Paladins
CT Raid or oRa2
Ventrilo

Tips for new recruits

You made it into Project Mayhem. Congratulations we're glad to have you.
Please be sure to read all of our rules. If we don't know you we will be watching closely to ensure you are following those rules.

Experienced Raider? Great we’re glad to have you.

New Raider? Fantastic, we like you too, but you need to be careful what situations you allow yourself to get into.

Always wanted to take down awesome bosses and be part of amazing raids? Yes? Slow down partner you may not want to jump right into that. You will be evaluated closely during your initial tenure in Project Mayhem. If you’ve never raided a particular dungeon before you will want to read up on the fights before hand and ensure you meet the DPS and healing requirements that are needed for those encounters. Any officer would be glad to work with you outside of raid time to ensure you are adequately prepared. I would recommend contacting an officer prior to joining any new raids and asking them to look over your gear and spec and see if they have any tips for you. If you are asked to join a raid and you really don’t know anything about it and are caught off guard you’d be wise to make that known before joining. Make sure the raid leader inviting you is clear that you have no idea on the fights, aren’t geared for it, etc… If we just need a body great you may still get an invite, if we need someone with experience you will stand out sorely.

I hate seeing new people excited about raiding only to fail miserably because they got themselves into a bad situation.
